Hundreds of Christians congregated at the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) St Paul’s Congregation in Kabwata, Lusaka on 19th February, to attend the 2017 Ecumenical Unity Prayers.
The annual event brought together Christians of Kabwata, Libala and Kabwata townships from the Pilgrim Wesleyan Church, Nazarene Church, Good Shepard Catholic Church, St Peters Anglican Church, African Methodist Episcopal, (AMEC)Bethel Church, Reformed Church in Zambia (RCZ) Kamwala Congregation, UPCSA Kabwata Presbyterian Church, Salvation Army Libala Citadel, UPCZ Kabwata Presbyterian Church and United Church of Zambia (UCZ).
The University Christian Community (UCC) will be holding a harvest thanksgiving Sunday, on 18th December 2016.
UCC /CCZ Chaplin Father James Phiri said the harvest thanksgiving Sunday is an activity aimed at appreciating what UCC has done for individuals who benefit from the services and what it has done for the University of Zambia (UNZA) over the years.
The Christian community in Zambia on Friday, March 4, 2016, converged at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross to celebrate an annual event in the Christian calendar the World Day of Prayer.
The event aimed at bringing together Christians in one place creates an opportunity for Christians to pray for various concerns of the world from each individual country.
The World Day of Prayer in Zambia was hosted by the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) under the theme “Receive children, receive me”.
The Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) will be part of the 2015 World AIDS Day celebrations on December 1, an annual event which began in 1988 aimed at raising awareness of the disease and remembering those who died of the disease and those living positively.
The theme for this year’s World Aids Day is “Zambia’s Future, Getting to Zero New HIV Infections”.
