The Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) was honoured and privileged to host Foundation Zambia National Partnership Coordinator, Mr. Peter De Wet, as part of its continued efforts to link developmental programmes to the communities it serves through its member churches.
With over 40 years of experience working with diverse stakeholders, Foundation Zambia is an initiative that seeks to teach communities God’s way of farming through the Gospel, promoting both spiritual and practical transformation.
Amid ongoing employment challenges, particularly among young people, the CCZ delegation led by the General Secretary, Fr. James Phiri commended the Foundation for its impactful work.
The meeting also explored ways in which the initiative can be integrated into CCZ programmes through its member churches, leveraging the Council’s extensive national footprint.
The engagement marked a significant step toward actualising the initiative’s goal of transforming perceptions around farming, especially among the youth, and positioning it as a viable and dignified livelihood option.
CCZ remains committed to supporting initiatives that empower communities to pursue sustainable livelihoods while safeguarding the environment entrusted to us by God.
Once fully implemented, this initiative is expected to create meaningful opportunities for member churches and their communities to embrace farming more seriously and ultimately improve their livelihoods.
