CCZ Pastoral letter on elections released

Leaders of the Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) member churches have shared reflections for consideration on the forth-coming August 11, 2016 General Elections and the Referendum in a Pastoral letter released today at a press briefing in Lusaka today addressed by

CCZ President Rev Dr Alfred Kalembo.

The Pastoral letter highlights issues related to the 2016 elections aimed at helping the members to consider them which include the call for peace, prayer, political violence and the referendum among others.

The letter contains reflections mainly focusing on the call for peace, misuse of religion for political end, political violence, the referendum,characteristics of a good leader and the coverage of campaigns by the media.

And Rev Dr Kalembo called for peaceful and violent free elections which will be a reflection of the people’s character of Zambians which is peace loving.
