We commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus on Good Friday and his death at Calvary that led to his Resurrection on Easter Monday. We celebrate his victory over death and sin which is the turning point for all creation. As Apostle Paul considered Good Friday “of first importance” that Jesus died for our sins, was buried and was raised to life on the third day(Easter Monday) following what God had promised in the Scriptures in 1 Corinthians 15:3.

“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance; that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

On Good Friday, we celebrate and remember the day Jesus willingly suffered and died by crucifixion as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins (1 John 1:10). To be truly himself, man was to live in constant communion with the source and dynamic power of God. when man fell from God. Christ, the Son of God through whom all things were created, came to restore man to communion with God. thereby completing creation. All things are again as they should be.
