Council of Churches in Zambia
The Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) has called for proactive measures from all African leaders to end the continued violence attacks in Cabo Delgado in Mozambique.
Speaking during a virtual media briefing hosted by The Fellowship of Christian Councils in Eastern and Southern Africa (FOCCISA) on Wednesday morning, CCZ General Secretary Rev.Canon Emmanuel Chikoya said African leaders needed to work together to harmonize various challenges the continent was facing which includes violent attacks in Mozambique.
The three Church Mother Bodies namely Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ), Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) and Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) on Sunday held a virtual joint ecumenical prayer service in the midst of the second wave of covid-19. The Church Service which was also physically attended by Minister of National Guidance and Religious, Affairs Rev. Godfredah Sumaili, was held at the Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Lusaka.
And speaking when he delivered the Homily, ZCCB Secretary General, Fr. Cleophas Lungu, called on the nation to put aside tribal, regional, religious and political differences and stand together as 'ONE ZAMBIA, ONE NATION' until COVID-19 is defeated.
