After 13 years of service at the Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) as Head of Programmes (HOP), Abraham Chikasa was celebrated at a farewell luncheon fellowship by members of staff at the secretariat.

Mr. Chikasa a dedicated member of the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) who devoted his time to CCZ in his capacity as head of programmes has left a legacy of inspiration for his humility, calmness and wisdom which were testified by everyone he has worked with.

He has been described and appraised for being not just a Head of Programmes but more of a brother, a friend and a father to everyone.

“When a person has been put into a position and you feel their presence, that’s what Leadership is and the people have felt you and we pray that God will open doors for you fill your presence” said Board Member Major Kennedy Mizinga of the Salvation Army.

During the same function it was also announced that George Chibwana, who has been working with CCZ as Program Officer for 5 years will take over the position of Head of Programmes after successfully going through the selection process.

And Mr. Chikasa expressed his gratitude to CCZ and everyone he has worked with for the support they gave him and that despite the diversity their backgrounds among staff the family culture brought everyone to work together. He  asked everyone to give their full support to the new Head of Programmes.

“I am wishing you well and praying you all the blessing as I leave CCZ with more peace than apprehension knowing that God is with me” said Mr. Chikasa.
