The United Church of Canada through its Program Coordinator for Southern Africa Church and South Asia Church in Partnership, Rev. Dr. Japhet Ndhlovu called on the Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) to strengthen the existing partnership between the two faith-based organizations.
Rev. Dr Ndhlovu, who is also former CCZ General Secretary shared information on how his organization operates, coordinates and funds programs for partner organizations. Dr Ndhlovu explained that it is important to exchange information between his organization and CCZ as a partners to continue enhancing the working relationship.
“I encourage you to constantly write proposals, send reports, share thought-provoking stories and send pictures not just to get funding but to update funding partners about the work you are doing ” said Rev. Ndhlovu.
During the same meeting Dr Ndhlovu stressed the need to have a Zambia Strategic Ecumenical Framework adding that ecumenism at local level becomes self-sustaining when the churches get involved by taking ownership of the projects.
And CCZ General Secretary Rev Dr Suzanne Matale thanked Rev. Ndhlovu for coming to visit the organisation with the aim of enhancing the existing partnership between CCZ and The United Church of Canada. (By Adrian Mendoza-Global Mission Fellow)
