Following the successful deliberations at the just ended 30th CCZ General Conference, delegates at the Conference yesterday elected members to represent them on the CCZ Board, which is the highest policy making body in the structure of the organisation.
The elections that took place shortly after winding up deliberations were administered by an elections committee that is comprised of affiliate members. The following are the new Board members: President Rev. Dr. Alfred Kalembo (Re-elected) from PWC, Vice-President Rev. Dr. Edwin Zulu (Re-elected) from RCZ while other Heads of Churches are Rev. Jane Nyirongo from Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa, Bishop Peter Tanda Mulenga (Re-elected) from Christian Word International Centre.
Women representatives are Mrs. Noria Mwenda (Re-elected) from Salvation Army, Mrs. Idah Nambeya Mukuka (Re-elected) from Kimbanguist and Ms. Marriet Zimba from Pilgrim Wesleyan Church.
The while the lay people that have been voted are Christopher Muleya from BICC and Lenard Mangani from AMEC. The position of Finance and property Committee went to Major. Kennedy Mizinga from Salvation Army who went unopposed. Youth representatives will be elected at a date to be announced.
The elected Board members who were inducted by Rev. Kangwa Mabuluki who is a UCZ retired Reverend and now General Secretary of the All Africa Theological Education by Extension Association are expected to provide policy direction to the secretariat for the next three years.
Meanwhile CCZ President Dr Rev Alfred Kalembo has commended CCZ General Secretary Rev Suzanne Matale for the hard work, resilience, sacrifice and achievements during her tenure of office. This was in a speech read to recognize her work, this being her last General Conference before the tenure of her office comes to an end.
“”we are proud of your hard work and admire your boldness in the midst of political turbulence,” Dr Kalembo said.
He wished Rev Matale well and God’s blessings in her future endeavors adding that it was his trust that the Rev uses her knowledge and experience gathered over the years to bless the church both at home and abroad._DSC0139                                                                   Part of the New Board
