The Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) closed the year 2014 on a sad note following the death of its board member Mrs Joyce Mbaza who was put to rest on 19th December, 2014 at Lusaka’s Mutumbi cemetery. CCZ General Secretary Rev Suzanne Matale described the late Mrs Mbaza as a responsible and self motivated woman who has made tremendous contribution to the council through her commitment as a board member. Speaking during the funeral service held at Pilgrim Wesleyan Church, John Howard congregation in Lusaka, Rev Matale said her absence was being felt by the council as nobody will immediately take up her position to fill the gap. “To family members and all the mourners, may the Lord give you strength and be your refuge to help you move on following the death of our beloved one”, she said.

And CCZ Chairperson for Theology Dr Edwin Zulu told mourners that the death of a believer offers a chance for each and every person to reflect on their lives and their relationship with the Lord while they have a chance on earth.

Dr Zulu added that every believer is accompanied by the good deeds done while on earth when they die which will be presented to each one when we stand before the Lord. Mrs Mbaza a teacher by profession was described by the husband as a gift from God.
